FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ARE THERE ANY SPECIFIC GRANT GUIDELINES?

  • The partner agency is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or sponsored by such an organization

  • The partner agency is located within the state of West Virginia.

  • The partner agency focuses on one or all of the following priorities:

    • Primary Prevention: focus on preventing adverse physical/mental health outcomes for whole populations or particular groups

    • Secondary Prevention: focus on early detection and supports for those at higher risk for adverse physical/mental health outcomes

    • Promoting School-Based Health Centers

HOW IS OUR GRANT PROCESS DIFFERENT?

We are seeking partners, not grantees. For this reason, we do not have a formal LOI or application process. Instead, we collect general information from organizations and invite them to ZOOM or in-person "coffee conversations" to get to know them beyond a word count. We then determine how closely their work aligns with our priorities of promoting the health and wellbeing of WV's children and their families, their focus on primary or secondary prevention strategies, and their ability to promote systemic change. To learn more, check out the "Our Approach" section of the website.
